Participation Rules

1. Eligibility The competition is open to artists from around the world. 2. Medium of Artwork Artists may create their portrait using any medium, including but not limited to watercolor, charcoal, graphite, pencil, oil, acrylic, pastel, ink, mixed media, fabric, or any other traditional or contemporary technique. 3. Artwork Details Each submission must include the title of the artwork and a brief description (maximum 100 words) explaining the inspiration, concept, or technique. 4. File Naming Image files must be named using the participant's full registered name without special characters. 5. File Size Submitted image files must not exceed 10 MB. Participants are encouraged to optimize their images for web upload without compromising quality. 6. Multiple Submissions Multiple submissions are permitted. Artists may submit more than one artwork by completing a separate registration form for each artwork and paying the applicable registration fee. Each submission will be treated as an independent entry and evaluated separately. 7. Grand Finale Shortlisted finalists will advance to the Grand Finale, where they will create a portrait from a live model within a 4-hour time limit in Hyderabad. Finalists must also bring their submitted artwork for verification and exhibition. All artworks will be returned after the competition. 8. Finalists The number of finalists will be determined by the jury based on the quality and number of submissions received. 9. Selection Process Entries will be evaluated by an independent panel of esteemed artists through a fair and transparent judging process. The detailed scoring methodology will remain confidential. Any attempt to violate the competition rules or provide false information may result in immediate disqualification. 10. Code of Conduct Participants are expected to maintain respectful and professional conduct towards the judges, fellow artists, organizers, staff, and volunteers. Misconduct or inappropriate behavior may result in disqualification. 11. Copyright All submitted artwork must be the participant's original creation. By participating, artists grant the organizers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use submitted images for promotional, educational, archival, exhibition, publicity, and marketing purposes, with appropriate credit given to the artist wherever reasonably practicable. 12. Communication Participants are responsible for ensuring that their contact information is accurate and up to date and for regularly checking their email for competition updates and announcements. 13. Artwork Ownership The original winning artwork of Portrait Artist of the Year – Season 2 shall become the property of the organizers. The organizers reserve the right to display, reproduce, publish, archive, and use the artwork for promotional, educational, exhibition, and publicity purposes. 14. Consent to Record All finalists participating in the Grand Finale consent to being photographed, filmed, and recorded throughout the event, including interviews, jury critique sessions, and related activities. These recordings may be used by the organizers for promotional, educational, archival, publicity, and marketing purposes. 15. Winner Eligibility The winner of Portrait Artist of the Year – Season 2 will not be eligible to participate in future editions of the competition. 16. Rule Modifications The organizing committee reserves the right to amend, update, interpret, or introduce additional rules whenever necessary. Any changes will be communicated through the official competition channels and shall be binding on all participants. 17. Event Cancellation or Postponement The organizers reserve the right to postpone, modify, or cancel the competition if circumstances beyond their reasonable control or competition standards require it. In such cases, registered participants will be informed promptly. Registration fees will be refunded only if the event is cancelled before the jury evaluation process begins. 18. Artist Declaration By submitting an entry, participants confirm that: * The artwork is entirely their original creation. * The submission does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party. * All information provided during registration is accurate and truthful. Any violation of these declarations may result in immediate disqualification.

Q: I am not from India. Can I participate? A: Yes! Portrait Artist of the Year – Season 2 welcomes artists from around the world. Q: Is there a registration fee? A: Yes. The registration fee is ₹1,200 per artwork submission. Your registration will be confirmed only after successful payment. Once completed, you will receive a confirmation email along with your unique Registration ID. Q: Can I submit more than one artwork? A: Yes. Multiple submissions are welcome. Simply complete a separate registration form for each artwork and pay the applicable registration fee for every submission. Each artwork will be treated as an independent entry and evaluated separately. Q: What are the evaluation criteria? A: Each artwork will be evaluated by our jury based on the following criteria: Visual Appeal Concept Technical Skill Composition Overall Presentation Q: What is the Creator's Agreement? A: During registration, all participants must accept the Creator's Agreement, which safeguards both the artist's rights and the rights of the competition organizers. Acceptance of this agreement is mandatory to complete your registration. Q: Can I participate individually? A: Yes. Only individual entries are accepted. Q: What happens to my artwork after the competition? A: You retain full ownership and copyright of your artwork. PPI will not request the original physical artwork unless it is selected for exhibition, showcase, or official display, in which case you will be contacted in advance. The winning artwork will become the property of the organizers in accordance with the competition rules. Q: What is the required submission format? A: Please upload your artwork in JPG format with a minimum resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels (Full HD). The file size must not exceed 10 MB. Q: Where do I upload my artwork? A: Artwork can be uploaded directly through the upload section in the online registration form after completing your registration. Q: How are submissions judged fairly? A: Every submission is independently reviewed by an esteemed panel of judges using the published evaluation criteria. The judging process is conducted with fairness, transparency, and impartiality. Q: Is this an online competition, or do I need to be present in person? A: The competition begins online, allowing artists from anywhere in the world to participate. Only the shortlisted finalists will be invited to Hyderabad to compete in the Grand Finale, where they will create a portrait from a live model before the jury.
